Wish Upon A Star
North Star Trilogy #3

by Jim Cangany
Release Date: October 17, 2014

Annie and E.J. are on top of the world. Her concert world tour as Cassandra Lawrence was a smashing success and they've just announced their engagement to the world. Now that they're settled in at Annie's Northern California estate, it's time to relax and enjoy life. Until E.J. gets a call from her with news that's as devastating as it is unbelievable.

Annie has breast cancer.

Their love is tested in unimaginable ways as chemotherapy robs Annie of her health and her hair, but not hope. She holds on to the hope of beating the cancer and marrying the man she loves. While the key for Annie is to hold onto that hope, their future together may be lost forever unless E.J. can learn to let go. For its not until he can learn to forgive himself and let go of the guilt that haunts him that he can truly move forward and be the man Annie needs him to be.

Will the chemotherapy, mastectomy and radiation be enough to help Annie beat the cancer? Will E.J. face down the demons that haunt his past in time to save their love? Will they ever get that happily ever after Annie so desperately wants? While trust and faith in each other has gotten them this far, they'll need one more thing to make it to their finish line--hope.

Every time I write a review for one of Jim's books I always say these are not the type of books that I read. Contemporary love stories I just do not do. But then I get talked into the next one and I fall in love with this series all over again. And Wish Upon A Star was very special to me. It was about a subject that a lot of families can identify with now days. That big ugly 6 letter word that none of us want to hear-CANCER. And Jim, having experienced it, as my family has, knew exactly what the characters were going through during a scary period of time.

Wish Upon A Star picks up where the last one left off. Annie and EJ are in the homestretch heading toward their wedding day. Then EJ receivind a call from Annie with those words no one wants to hear from a loved one  "I have cancer."  This book is about the journey that one has to take and their significant other, when diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis, surgery, treatment, and the crappy side effects of all the poison they put in your body. EJ was a rock. He had made up his mind that he could do it for Annie, because she was his north star and he loved her so much. No matter what he was always there. No matter how upset or scared he became, he took it like a man. And thanks to their good friends EJ had a support system like no other.

This was a wonderful look into cancer (if it can be wonderful) and unconditional love. I hate to see this series come to an end but I so enjoyed it down to the last page. And thank you Jim for putting that last part for us to see into EJ and Annie's future. It completed the story for me.
This book made me cry and made my heart smile. I'll never forget this series. Read The North Star series you will not be disappointed.

5 Stars as usual for Jim and this series!

About The Author

A lifelong resident of the State of Indiana, Jim Cangany is proud to call himself a Hoosier. The youngest of eight children, he grew up in a household full of books and people. Thanks to the influence of his older siblings, Jim gravitated toward fantasy and sci-fi when looking for something to read. He wrote his first story at age fourteen. A school project, The Magic Coin was a fantasy that involved a king, some bad guys, and, not surprisingly, a magical token.
These days, Jim writes romance on the sweet end. If you ask him what is a guy like him is doing writing romance, he'll reply, "Those are the stories in my head." A believer that the world has enough doom and gloom, he likes stories with a happy ending, regardless of genre. He lives in Indianapolis with his wonderful wife Nancy and his two sons, Seamus and Aidan.
