AUTHOR BIO

Pamela DuMond is the author who discovered Erin Brockovich’s life story, thought it would make a great movie and pitched it to ‘Hollywood’.

She writes romantic comedic mysteries, romantic YA time travel and New Adult romance.

Her book The Story of You and Me was a Quarterfinalist in the Amazon Breakout Novel Award (ABNA) 2014 in Romance.

Cupcakes, Pies, and Hot Guys was a Quarterfinalist in ABNA 2013 in Mystery .

She’s addicted to TV shows — The Voice and Reign. The movies Love Actually and The Bourne trilogy (with Matt Damon — not that other actor guy,) make her cry ever time she watches them. (Like — a thousand.)

When she’s not writing Pamela’s also a chiropractor and cat wrangler. She loves reading, the beach, working out, movies, TV, animals, her family and friends. She lives in Venice, California with her fur-babies.

She likes her coffee strong, her cabernet hearty, her chocolate dark, her foods non-GMO and she lives for a good giggle.

Do you like the spotlight or lurking in the shadows?
A little of both. By night I lurk, because I am a writer. We tend to shuffle into our writer caves, close the door and pound out words.
But I also love to check up and chit-chat with my FB friends, my work-out friends, my writing friends, and even sometimes, if I am very brave—family members.

How many books are in your TRB pile?
Too many to count. The list keeps growing and growing. I’m not a fast reader. I generally read on my Kindle while I pound out miles and calories on the treadmill at the gym.

What is next on your to read list?
I’ve started a fab romance by author Allie Sinclair, called Luna Tango. Her book is currently only available in Australia, so I paid her to ship me a paper copy to L.A. I was that determined to read her book! And I started Dying for a Dude by Cindy Sample, which is hilarious.

What one item would you eat for the rest of your life?
Only one???
Calamari fritti. Medium-rare steak. Dark coffee. (Not eating—drinking.)

What is the last thing you bought?
Running shoes that didn’t fit my feet and gave me a ginormous blister. I returned them and purchased shoes better suited for me.

Pet Peeves?
People who hate others who they perceive as different from themselves.
People who dump a friendship in a passive-aggressive fashion for ridiculous, petty reasons.
Smokers who don’t realize that every butt they throw out the window or crush onto the ground pollutes our oceans and environment.
People who cut you off in traffic to get one car ahead of you at the stoplight.

Pizza or Pasta?
Pizza. Johnny’s NY Super Deluxe Combo.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I was a singer at The Gaslight Club (A Gentleman’s Club – NO – NOT a strip club) when I was nineteen and twenty-years-old. And I was terrible.

If you had 24 hours alone how would you spend it?
Kind of what I’m doing right now. Writing. Editing. Eating good food. Exercising. Petting my kitties. I do need to visit the beach, however.

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
Right now, my mom – Susan Marie Timmel DuMond. She died unexpectedly Feb. 16, 2014, and I miss her something fierce. I tucked a copy of my book, The Messenger into her casket before we buried her. I wrote inside the book that this story was for her. Always for her.

What do you do in your free time?
What is this mysterious thing called “free time?” I hit the gym about four or five days a week.

Can you share a little about the current title you are working on?
I’m finishing The Assassin (Mortal Beloved, #2)
Madeline travels to a real life/historical ‘Romeo-Juliet’ saga that took place in medieval Europe and re-connects with her beloved Samuel. She desperately tries to discover her ‘message’ that needs to be delivered in this journey. The story is intertwined with history, action-packed, filled with twists and turns, and incredibly romantic. The title is key on so many levels.

I’m also pedal to the metal writing Cupcakes, Diaries, and Rotten Inquiries (A Romantic, Comedic Annie Graceland Mystery, #6) My heroine, Annie Graceland, is a baker who recently learned the hard way that she can see and talk to ghosts. Unfortunately they can also see and talk to her—nagging her incessantly to solve their murders so they can pass to the Afterlife. It’s a silly, funny series, and anyone who enjoys a giggle would probably enjoy these books.

Thanks!
Thank you, Michelle. Please FB me. Let’s become friends.
